Please Help Elmore Rock N Roll.
Hi All,
Greg here from Elmore in North Central Victoria. We're a small community with big facilities, lots of energy and a desire to establish a Rock N Roll event in our town. The onus has fallen on me to approach you, the serious Rockers, to discover what makes a Rock N Roll event a success.
We love the idea of a competition. Is that popular? How broad a range of music do Rockers... [Read More] |

Rockabilly "Shoot Out"
In just one day, at a place called the Gully, the rockabilly “mobsters” have shot to pieces the hard earned reputation of Melbourne as the serene, cultural capital of Australia. Yes, we still have the museum and the arts centre with regular ballet and theatrical performances. But after witnessing the totally wild rockabilly “Shoot Out” at the Ferntree Gully hotel today, even a hard core gangster... [Read More] |

What is a Rocker?
What and who is a rocker? Is a rocker the same as a rock & roller? Does the term denote someone who dances rock & roll only? But what about someone who merely loves rock & roll music and doesn’t dance at all? Is he still a rocker? Or in the case of someone who merely loves dressing up in 1950’s style clothing? Is that a person also a rocker or a rock & roller?
What... [Read More] |

Pat Capocci and Ezra Lee
I looked back to a post I put up after my first visit to Wintersun back in 2004 to find a comment I remembered making about Pat Capocci. I said back then that one of the highlights of Wintersun had been:
'The dirty rockabilly sounds of three young guys out of Maitland called the Pat Capocci Combo (suited my style of dance to a tee and we danced non-stop for an hour...)'

Lakeside Rockers Rockers Birthday Dance
The memorial hall at Sale would have to be the best kept secret in Victorian Rock'n'Roll.
Massive dance floor, some fantastic dancers, friendly club and DJ Dr Rock.
Rock and Roll heaven.
Dr Rock's first song to set the mood was the theme from the Good The Bad And The Ugly. I knew from then on I was going to enjoy myself.
The room had gentle light instead of the... [Read More] |
